Directions to the Chapel
From Outside
Edinburgh
At the roundabout at the end of the M8 take the third exit on the city
by-pass (marked A720 South and Berwick-upon-Tweed) and continue on the
by-pass all the way around the outskirts of Edinburgh until you reach
the Sheriffhall Roundabout.
Take the second exit,
signposted Old Craighall (A6106) and continue on this road to a small
roundabout with an Inn (The Cockatoo) on the right. Turn left at this
roundabout (signposted Newton/Danderhall) and continue on a fairly
winding road for about 2 miles to a set of traffic lights at The Wisp.
Turn left at the lights into
Niddrie Mains Road – go through 3 sets of pedestrian lights. After the
third set of lights take the second left turning into Craigmillar
Castle Avenue: the entrance to The Thistle Foundation is on the left.
The Robin Chapel is situated at the end of the driveway. There are
parking spaces in front of the main building.
From the City
Centre (Princes Street)
From Princes Street travel up North & South Bridge (the
Bridges). (If you want to catch a bus it can be caught either here or
at the top of Leith Walk, numbers 2,14, 30, 32 will take you to just
outside The Thistle Foundation on Niddrie Mains Road). If you are
driving just follow the road without taking any turning until you reach
a roundabout (near Cameron Toll). At this roundabout turn left, you
will then come to a small roundabout at which you should go straight
on. Ahead will be another roundabout (with traffic lights) and you
should be in the right hand lane. You will be taking the second exit
(A6095 signposted Musselburgh) into Peffermill Road, which will soon
become Niddrie Mains Road. Follow the road and you will come to a
crossroads with lights –stay in the right hand lane- and go straight
across. You will pass by some shops and will shortly see The Thistle
Foundation signposted. Turn right into Craigmillar Castle Avenue: the
entrance to The Thistle Foundation is on the left. The Robin Chapel is
situated at the end of the driveway. There are parking spaces in front
of the main building.
